Most of the C2K team plus friends of the shop took part in the recent Derby Spring Sportive on Sunday 21st April 2023. There was a choice of distances offered by the organizers PMA Racing. The events base and start/finish point was Markeaton Park which is a great venue.
We have always been very lucky with the weather in previous years at this event but this year was cold and wet, it was raining as we set off but did ease off after around 30 minutes and incredibly stayed mostly dry for the rest of the event. Despite the weather is was another very enjoyable sportive we all enjoyed.
We chose the 80km route which included a far bit of climbing and included 2 feed stations. Some quick times posted by some of the team with ave speeds approaching 20mph. The complimentary sandwich and coffee at the end was very welcome. Looking forward to the Autumn event!
