2023 Review – The whole C2K team have enjoyed another enjoyable year although 2023 definitely had it’s challenges. Rising interest rates and cost of living affected everyone, however despite this we had another busy year seeing many existing cyclists upgrading to new bikes or upgrading components such as wheels and groupsets on an existing bike. We also saw many new customers that were beginning cycling for the first time or coming back to it after a long layoff, either for fitness, mental health, family time or as a new more efficient mode of transport.
Road & Mountain Bikes plus all types of eBikes were incredibly popular in 2023 with our Altura clothing range, Lake Shoes, Garmin GPS and bike security products also proving very popular.
We added Orbea to our range this year to sit alongside Cannondale, Scott, Basso, Frog Bikes, EBCO, Dawes, Claude Butler and Batribike. New accessories brands added in 2023 included Pirelli, Orange Seal, Rapid Racer Mudguards and more.
Availability of bikes definitely improved in 2023 although Carbon Road and Gravel bikes still remain limited with waiting lists for popular models, such as the Cannondale SuperSix Evo, Scott Foil and Orbea Orca.

Workshop News
Both Cav and Chris have been very busy in the workshop all year. Services, repairs and upgrades on Road, Hybrid and Mountain Bikes and from puncture repairs, suspension services, full strip downs, gear indexing and loads more, it’s been a busy year. One of the most popular jobs in the workshop this year has been upgrading Road and Mountain Bikes to Electronic Groupsets. Shimano 105 Di2 and Sram AXS being the most popular upgrade.

C2K Annual Awards:
This year we thought we would have a bit of fun this year with each member of the team voting for their bike and accessory of the year. 5 Categories – Road Bike, Gravel Bike, Mountain Bike, eBike and Accessory.
Combination of value for money, build quality, ride quality, style and innovation, below are the results, see if you agree!
The availability of the brand new Evo from Cannondale was very limited in 2023 for good reason. The SuperSix has always been an inconic race bike but this new version combined both lightweight with super aero resulting in a superb performance bike. Availability is now improving.
The GT Avalanche was one of our best selling Hardtail Mountain Bikes this year. For the right type of rider and terrain it ticks all boxes, Great build quality and design, cool colour options from 4 models and even better value for money.
We couldn’t split the Wild and the Rise for the eBike of the year. As Electric Mountain Bikes have evolved into “lightweight” and “full power” options to suit different riders and styles, Orbea have the best bike on the market in each category.
This year saw the launch of the Solace eRide from Scott. All gravel bikes are so adaptable to suit many different uses but add a mid drive TQ electric systems, one of the smoothest on the market, the Scott Solace eRide has to be our gravel bike of the year.
All Garmin products continue to be one of the most popular accessory for all cyclists, whether it be Power Pedals, Smart Lights or GPS Units but one of the most underrated Garmin products is the Explore 2. It does almost everything most rider need and is much cheaper than the 540, 840 and 1040 models.
The final award goes to one of the best selling bikes of the year for us. The Orbea Gain was the eRoad bike of choice for most people. A large range of models starting at around £2800 and multiple colour options. The build quality and attention to detail set this bike apart from the rest.
2024 – What To Expect?
There is loads to look forward to in 2024. We have already seen many new models, bikes and accessories that our big brands are launching in 2024 and there are some really exciting things to show you during the year. Some of these are available now but you will have the chance to see many of these exciting new products at our Spring Cycle Show in April.
