1- 10 KRIPTONITE RATING SYSTEM

Each lock has a security rating (not a quality rating) that ranks the varying levels of security offered in the range. This system is designed to help you choose the best lock for your needs. It’s a 10 point system with 1 being deterrent security and 10 being ultimate security.

1,2&3 – Locks designed for quick stops in rural areas

4,5&6 – Quick stop in a metropolitan area, couple of hours in the suburbs, overnight in a rural area or a couple of hours on a car rack on the road

7&8 – All day in an urban area, quick stop on a college campus, overnight in the suburbs, overnight in a rural area or all day on a car rack on the road

9&10 – Overnight in any of the following areas, any metropolitan area, college campus, any rural area or on a car rack on the road.

There are a number of lock options available including, Cable locks, Chains, U Locks (or D Locks), Folding locks plus accessories including cables and ground anchors.

Good secondary security include locks and chains from the “Kryptoflex” range examples below

Moderate security from the “Keeper” and “Kryptoloc“ ranges.

KEY & COMBO REGISTRATION

It happens, you could lose your keys. Many of the locks are sold with the Key Safe Program. Just register your keys and if they are lost Kryptonite will replace the first 2 keys FREE. You can also register your combination and if it is forgotten they will provide it for you.

WHAT IS THE ANTI-THEFT PROTECTION OFFER?

Kryptonite stands behind its products by providing an Anti-Theft Protection Offer on specific locks. Created by Kryptonite in 1978, the Anti-Theft Protection Offer is a program that reimburses registered customers for a specific monetary amount in the event their bicycle/motorcycle is stolen due to the opening or breaking of the lock by force. This coverage is not bicycle insurance and there is no affiliation with an insurance company. The offer is administered by Kryptonite.
