For many many years the Cannondale Synapse was the go to sportive/endurance bike for the vast majority of people. The Synapse won multiple awards over many year and ticked all boxes on almost everybody’s list.

Around 2021 the Synapse became a little dated and fell behind the pack in the race for the best endurance bike on the market. Cannondale tried to refresh and revive the model by adding “Smart Sense” a superb idea adding integrated front and rear lights and rear radar. The reality was that although Smart Sense was a great idea, the way it was executed was not 100% right and therefore probably had a negative effect on sales rather than the positive one we and Cannondale had hope for.
